May I come each day and place the things in my hands at the foot of your cross.
Psalm 62:5 -- Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.
There's a lot of me. I carry a lot of burdens, cares, apprehensions, fears, doubts, lies, hopes, dreams, aspirations, ideas, feelings, hurts, heartaches, excitements, joys, loves, and desires. Jesus took all of my burdens and cares with him when he went on the cross. He loves me enough that he wants to take all of them and replace them with a peace that exceeds understanding.
At the foot of the cross, on bended knee, with tears flowing from my eyes; this is where I belong. I belong in total submission to my King, my Father, my Savior. For he has set me free from the worries and cares of this world and has allowed me the opportunity to be transformed. Because he loves me, I am able to love. Because he served me, I know how to serve. Because he showed me mercy, I can see how to show mercy.
Psalm 63:3 -- Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I want a heart like Jesus' heart.
Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers.
-- Francis Chan, Crazy Love.
I have bought into the American dream.
I want to live the 'Jesus dream' life.
I want a heart that seeks and saves the lost for my King.
I want a heart that seeks spiritual riches, not the riches of this world.
I want a heart that wants to further God's kingdom, rather than creating my own.
I want a heart that sits down and washes feet.
I want a heart that smiles when the truth wins out.
I want a heart that is patient.
I want a heart that breaks at injustice.
I want a heart that loves unconditionally.
I want a heart that is always willing to forgive because of the depths of Christ's forgiveness to me.
I want a heart that is eager and willing.
I want a heart that praises God endlessly.
I want a heart that weeps.
I want a heart that listens and prays.
I want a heart hidden in Christ.
I want a heart that says "Here am I, send me." and then goes.
John 3:30 -- He must increase and I must decrease.
